Description: Generative AI is reshaping how students engage with coursework, and faculty are navigating new challenges and opportunities in assignment design. This workshop explores practical strategies for creating assignments that promote authentic learning while acknowledging the realities of AI. We’ll discuss ways to encourage students to show their process, incorporate reflection, and connect work to in-class experiences—approaches that make AI misuse less appealing and learning more meaningful. You’ll also learn how to identify potential signs of AI use, document concerns thoughtfully, and turn these moments into constructive conversations. Finally, we’ll examine frameworks for integrating AI into assignments when it enhances learning outcomes. Join us for a collaborative discussion on adapting to a changing educational landscape with confidence and creativity and come away with a hands-on approach for redesigning assignments to encourage student engagement in a post-AI world.
Space is limited in in-person sessions.
