Accessibility and PowerPoint
Facilitator: Britt Peterson, CFDI.
Description: This session focuses on designing accessible PowerPoint presentations that support all learners, including those using screen readers or assistive technologies. Participants will explore best practices for slide structure, reading order, and meaningful use of layouts, as well as how to create accessible visuals, use alt text effectively, and ensure sufficient color contrast. The session will also cover common pitfalls—such as overloaded slides or improperly formatted content—and demonstrate how to use PowerPoint’s built-in accessibility checker. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to create inclusive, accessible presentations for both live delivery and asynchronous sharing.
