Description: The school of education is piloting implementation of the new Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan in partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). This plan is a roadmap to enhance and unify core literacy instruction efforts statewide. The Plan is the result of extensive engagement with educators and stakeholders across the state and a wide range of community members interested in and affected by the final plan.
The Plan will be mandated for all Illinois educator preparation programs, across the curriculum. Our presentation will highlight the history and development of the the Plan. Additionally, we will emphasize core instructional practices and recommendations for multilingual and bidialectal learners that will impact everyone involved in K-12 teacher preparation, across content areas.Register Below!
