Enrollment in a relevant SIUE graduate
program (e.g. Business, Public Administration,
Marketing, Mass Comm); strong organizational
and communication skills; proficiency in social
media platforms, content creation, and marketing
tools; ability to lead, manage and coordinate
events, workshops, and conferences; ability
to work independently and collaboratively
in a dynamic environment; commitment
to community engagement and regional
development. Must have reliable transportation
- work will be completed in-person at The Wedge
Innovation Center in Alton, IL. Must be available
to occasionally work evenings/weekends.
The Graduate Assistant will play a pivotal
role in supporting SIUE's initiatives at The
Wedge Innovation Center. This position offers
a unique opportunity to engage in event
planning, marketing, social media content
creation and publication, community outreach,
business development and venue/administrative
tasks that align with SIUE's mission to
drive innovation and economic growth in the
region. Key responsibilities: Event Planning &
Coordination: Organize and manage events,
workshops, and seminars to promote SIUE's
presence and initiatives at The Wedge. Marketing
& Communications: Develop, create, and
implement social media content and strategies,
create marketing materials, and maintain
communication channels to enhance visibility
and engagement. Community Engagement:
Foster relationships with local organizations,
businesses, and community members to support
collaborative projects, initiatives, partnerships,
and sponsorships. Research & Course Support:
Aid faculty/instructors in research activities and
course preparation related to programs/seminars
conducted at The Wedge. Administrative Duties:
maintain sign-up and sign-in sheets, track key
performance indicators (KPIs) such as event
attendance, and manage budgetary records.
