Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Active RN license or eligibility.

• Enrollment in 6+ graduate credit hours; good academic standing.

• Preference given to students enrolled in SIUE SON Nurse Educator program; second preference given to students enrolled in other SIUE SON graduate programs. Preferred Qualifications

• Prior tutoring or mentoring experience.

• Strong communication and teaching skills.

Position Description

The position description should support the Assistantship Category you chose earlier.

The ABSN tutoring TA provides academic support and mentorship for accelerated students receiving HRSA-supported stipends. This role strengthens retention, content mastery, and clinical readiness. Available: 1 position at 50% and 1 position at 25%.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide tutoring in nursing content and dosage calculation.
• Support peer study groups and mentoring activities, may include involvement in some lab or classroom sessions
• Assist faculty with skills reinforcement sessions and grant-related learning module development, as needed.
• Facilitate open lab sessions.
• Maintain tutoring documentation and progress reports.
• Support students during specialized modules and other grant-related learning experiences.
