Semi-monthly Stipend Amount or Stipend Range: Semi-monthly stipend of $600 for 20 hour/week TA or $300 for 10 hour/week TA.
Must be in process of applying to, or be admitted to, the Master of Geography graduate program. Only students admitted to the Geography graduate program are eligible for an assistantship in the Department of Geography and GIS. Preferred qualifications include being a full-time student, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong undergraduate achievement in geography or geography-related coursework related to instructional needs in the department.
Graduate Teaching Assistants will perform instructional duties which may include coordination of classroom and lab instruction, facilitating lab access and assisting students using the lab, ensuring that all lab equipment is functional and to help arrange repairs if needed, tutoring students, grading student work, developing instructional materials, proctoring exams, in-class support, and other instructional duties as assigned. Positions may be filled at the 25% level (10 hours per week) or 50% level (20 hours per week) depending on instructional needs of the department.
