Qualifications

Be admitted to and remain in good academic standing within the SIUE Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the School of Nursing and Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, integrity, and strong organizational skills.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, and peers.

Be able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.

Demonstrate attention to detail and commitment to maintaining an organized learning environment.

Be proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Teams, and other university-supported software).

Demonstrate familiarity with anesthesia equipment, supplies, and basic simulation laboratory operations appropriate to their level within the curriculum. Be capable of safely lifting, transporting, and organizing laboratory equipment and supplies (up to approximately 30 pounds) and standing for extended periods during laboratory preparation and activities.

Maintain compliance with all School of Nursing clinical, laboratory, and university requirements, including required immunizations, training, and certifications as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who: Have successfully completed the first clinical semester of the Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Have previous experience working in simulation laboratories or educational settings.

Have experience with inventory management or equipment maintenance.

Demonstrate initiative and the ability to anticipate faculty and laboratory needs.

Possess strong troubleshooting skills with simulation or anesthesia equipment.

Have prior experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or serving as a laboratory assistant.

Position Description

The purpose of this position is to help facilitate the operations of the Anesthesia labs. This position is tasked with inventory management of the anesthesia supplies, and informing the Coordinator of the Simulation Laboratory for Health Sciences when supplies need to be re-ordered. This person will also be responsible for organizing, gathering, setting up and putting away all supplies used for all anesthesia lab experiences and for anesthesia student open labs. This person will communicate directly with the faculty of record for these lab experiences to ensure that all aspects of the experience are prepared for the students.

This position will report to the Director and/or Coordinator of the Simulation Lab for Health Science. Some of the tasks being delegated can and will be delegated from the Director and Assistant Director of the Anesthesia Department.

Work assigned hours reliably and communicate promptly regarding scheduling conflicts or absences.

Serve as a professional representative of the SIUE Nurse Anesthesia Program.\
