Grade Recovery & Academic Sustainability Program (GRASP)
Students on academic probation are required to take a course through Learning Support Services that will help them regain good academic standing and reconnect with the university.
Students will learn how to: use their learning styles to tailor their approach to learning, process information more efficiently, manage time effectively, set and achieve goals, read college textbooks and improve comprehension, take notes from textbooks and lectures, and use a variety of notetaking systems to prepare for tests. Information literacy skills, engaging in the process of learning, and group collaboration activities are important components of this course. Students will also explore issues/topics related to financial literacy, academic support services, academic advising and career exploration, and various other local resources.
Instructors in this program serve as mentors/academic coaches and will work with students to help them achieve all their academic goals.
