We have 50 SI leaders and 8 team leaders at SIUE this semester. SI leaders are knowledgeable, qualified students who have taken the targeted SI course on campus and received a good grade. Team leaders are veteran SI Leaders who act as mentors to the members of their content-based team.

In the SI program, we value excellence in all aspects of college life, which includes academics, extracurricular activities, and volunteer work. Our leaders are actively involved in college life. We thought it fitting to showcase our leaders and their accomplishments.

Future Job Hopes/Prospects: I am eager to continue my education beyond my Bachelor's degree in ACS-certified Biochemistry, though I am still weighing my options. My background has provided me with a solid foundation in the sciences, and I am particularly drawn to the potential applications of biochemistry in the medical field. As I explore my future pathways, I find myself leaning towards pursuing further studies that would allow me to integrate my biochemical knowledge with medical practice. Whether through advanced research or clinical application, I am excited about the prospect of contributing to the advancement of healthcare and improving patient outcomes.
Other important information (clubs, organizations, internships, scholarships, research work, volunteer work, etc.): I am honored to be a recipient of the Provost Scholarship, which has significantly supported my academic journey. Currently, I work in Dr. Tucker's lab, where I have been involved in fascinating research projects. One of our key projects involved studying crawfish, where we focused on digesting and extracting their nerve chords to quantify the levels of antidepressants they were exposed to. Additionally, I have worked with worms, analyzing the effects of statins—medications used to lower cholesterol—by quantifying their presence in these organisms. These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of biochemical processes but have also fueled my passion for exploring the intersections of biochemistry and medicine.
