You will be able to register for winter session courses during spring registration (select "Winter Session" from the registration calendar drop-down menu). Be sure to register on the first day classes are available; offerings are limited and will fill quickly. All undergraduate students must receive registration clearance from their academic advisor in order to register.
The Registrar will administratively drop students from winter session courses if they are not in good standing at the time of registration. Students are permitted to enroll in only one winter session course.
Graduate students are advised by a designated faculty member within their department. If you are not sure who your advisor is, please contact your academic department to be connected.
Visiting Students
Looking to take a single class? Want to take a class during winter break and transfer it back to your home institution? Visiting students start by applying to the University. Visiting students applying for winter session should select the spring semester on the application and apply by December 1. Visiting students are permitted to enroll in only one winter session course.
Students who are seeking to transfer a course back to another institution should seek guidance from their academic advisor at that institution regarding eligibility of transfer. It is likely that your home institution will want to review a description of the course. Course descriptions can be located in the SIUE Graduate and Undergraduate Catalog. SIUE is fully accredited, but transfer credit requirements are set by the accepting institution. We recommend that you seek approval from your home institution before you enroll. Learn more.
Visiting students are not eligible to receive financial aid. However, if a visiting student is currently pursuing a degree at another postsecondary institution, the student may be eligible for VA benefits. Students wishing to receive VA benefits need to submit appropriate documentation confirming their degree-seeking status at a parent institution.
