Brief Intro/bio:
My connection to the SIUE School of Pharmacy runs deep—I graduated with the second class in 2010 and have been proudly part of the community ever since. As a student, I had the unique opportunity to witness a pharmacy program being built. Serving on the Curriculum Committee and participating in the accreditation process helped steer me toward academic pharmacy and sparked my passion for teaching pharmacy students. After completing a residency at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center with a focus on mental health and primary care, I worked in community pharmacy, serving as an IPPE and APPE preceptor, before returning to SIUE in 2013 to join the Experiential Education team. Since 2015, I have served as Director of Experiential Education and am a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, focusing on teaching, mentorship, and experiential learning.
In my role, I oversee the APPE curriculum and teach in the personal and professional development sequence, where my focus is on innovation, problem-solving, and working with students to strengthen the affective domain skills they need to be effective practitioners. My goal is to build connections with students, mentors, and preceptors to support wellbeing, improve learning, and prepare students for meaningful pharmacy practice.
