Needs & Concerns
The Dean of Students Office wants to ensure that all SIUE students have access to basic needs, including food, housing, healthcare, technology, and transportation. If you or someone you know needs support regarding basic needs, personal concerns, health issues, or student concerns, please submit a Care Report. Our team will then reach out to provide support.
The Dean of Students serves as the Basic Needs Navigator and HOUSE Liaison under the State of Illinois for students experiencing homelessness and youth in care. The Basic Needs Navigator in the Dean of Students Office at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is a vital resource for students facing challenges related to their basic needs, including housing, food, clothing, finances, utilities, transportation, healthcare, medical, legal issues, and emergency services. As a dedicated professional, the Basic Needs Navigator is committed to providing compassionate and confidential support to students in need, helping them to access the resources and services they require to overcome their difficulties and achieve their academic goals. Whether it's connecting students with community resources, providing financial assistance, or offering referrals to campus or external support services, the Basic Needs Navigator is an essential part of the SIUE community, working tirelessly to ensure that every student has the support they need to succeed. Students needing assistance may contact deanofstudents@siue.edu to schedule a consultation.
