As a St. Louis native and 1985 graduate of Hazelwood Central Sr. High School, Tracey continued her education, and in 1991, Tracey graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southern University and A&M College. Her post graduate experience included working as an Accountant/Auditor for 8 years with various industries in St. Louis, MO, and as Marketing & Event Manager/Planner for consumer marketing companies.
Following her aspirations to see the world, as a Travel Director, Tracey gained invaluable experience and an global vision, by traveling to St. Petersburg, Russia; Ghana, Africa; Mexico, London, Vancouver & Montreal, Canada; Caribbean Islands; Copenhagen, Helsinki, Switzerland; Tallinn, Estonia and Boston. In these travels she has survived bungee jumping, swimming with dolphins, climbing Chichen-Itza on the day of the Equinox, and even taking a picture with a lion cub!.
She has worked for MTV networks in New York, NY as a Production Assistant wetting her appetite for the media & entertainment industry. In 2001 she returned home from 5 years in Washington, DC to St. Louis, MO where she merged her love of youth, education, communication and media and produced “Rapture Radio Show” on KSTL-690AM, then produced the second installment, “Rapture Reel Video Show” on STL-City TV. These shows were made introduce St. Louis teens to moral and civic responsibility within the parameters of Christian principles and Gospel Rap music
Through her READ2MeMsTracey program, Ms. Shanklin brings books to life as a Youth & Adult Services Provider for the St. Louis metropolitan area, producing quality, interactive story time for children and adults. Ms. Shanklin has worked in the St. Louis Public and County school districts, daycares, hospitals, and other public venues. She’s produced 2 children’s audiobooks, and one adult, with immediate plans to produce more in the very near future, including her own series of ABC books, “All About My ABC’s” book series for toddlers and Pre-School aged readers.
Her direction in the immediate future is to continue producing audio-books, commercials, websites audio and voice-overs through her Voices By Tracey, LLC and her Blog Talk Radio.com shows, “READ2MeMsTracey”, an online story time show for children, adult content in production, and “BEgan A New You”, an online talk show about improving the African-American focused and Melanin community in general, from the inside-out through Nutrition therapy.
