From Gloucester, England, Janet Evra is a vocalist, bassist, composer, and songwriter based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She blends traditional bossa nova, samba, and latin jazz with modern influences and an indie twist to produce fresh, lush, modern jazz.
Evra performs on premier stages across the United States and Europe. In St. Louis, she performs monthly at The Dark Room, bi-monthly at Evangeline's Bistro and Music House, and regularly at venues such as The Sheldon, the .ZACK Theater, the National Blues Museum, and Old Rock House. Evra is a 2019-2020 Artist in Residence at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation.
Evra released her debut album, Ask Her to Dance, featuring her original music and signature style, to critical acclaim. Evra's music is played on radio stations across the Midwest and on St. Louis radio stations 88.7 The Sound, 88.1 KDHX, and 90.7 St. Louis Public Radio.
