Dean’s Welcome
It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you to the College of Arts and Sciences at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The College, commonly known as CAS, engages all SIUE undergraduates through general education courses, and thousands of students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in one of the College’s dozens of degree programs.
CAS offers degrees in a wide range of disciplines, from the visual and performing arts and the humanities to the sciences and social sciences. The College’s hundreds of outstanding faculty and staff are committed to helping students to acquire knowledge and develop fully as critical thinkers, problem solvers and active participants in the local, national and global communities.
CAS alumni enjoy rewarding careers in the offices, laboratories and classrooms of the St. Louis metropolitan area and the world. They work in all occupations, from chemists, graphic designers, journalists and musicians to policy analysts, teachers, managers and entrepreneurs. They give back to our communities as volunteers and public servants.
