Applied Anthropology
Applied anthropology is the application of anthropological methods, theories and knowledge to solving real world problems and addressing contemporary societal needs. Applied anthropologists could be educated and trained as cultural, linguistic, biological anthropologists or archaeologists. Applied anthropologists might work in health departments, immigration services or non-government organizations. Examples of applied anthropology include museum careers, cultural resource management and forensic anthropology, all of which can be explored and experienced as a student in the SIUE Department of Anthropology.
