The Metcalf theater is a 60’ x 60’ black box theater with an 18’ grid. The theater was built with student funds to serve as a non-traditional performance venue. The Metcalf is the host to several student productions throughout the year as well as one mainstage show and a Shakespeare performance during the summer. As a black box, the audience and stage configuration can shift from show to show using stock risers and customized scenery.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is authorized to operate as a postsecondary educational institution by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
