Kristie C. Osi
Kristie C. Osi is a Nigerian-American Costume Designer based out of Saint Louis Missouri with a Master’s of Fine Art in Costume Technology. She began her career as a stitcher in the costume shop at Houston Grand Opera in the spring 2016, that fall she was given the opportunity to study Costume Technology at the University of Houston. Kristie’s first professional costume design was Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom in May 2018 and was awarded Costume Design of the Decade from the Broadway World Regional Awards in January 2020. Her credits include but are not limited to: Blood at the Root and School of Rock (SIUE); Carmen (Opera Orlando); Marian’s Song (Houston Grand Opera); Angry, Raucous, and Shamelessly Gorgeous (Human Race Theater Company); Il Trovatore and Onegin (Opera in the Heights); Too Heavy for Your Pocket (The Ensemble Theatre); Timbuktu! (The Black Rep); Picasso at Lapin Agile (Rice University). Kristie is also on staff with Penguin Entertainment as Costume Designer for live production events, clients include Disney Live Entertainment, Scentsy, and Tiger Woods Golf League. She is excited to begin her professional teaching career this fall at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as Visiting Assistant Professor of Costume Design and share her knowledge with future theater Leaders and Innovators.
