Graduate Clinics
Our graduate dental residents provide advanced care delivered under the supervision of our expert faculty. These residents are studying a dental specialty, advanced general dentistry, or are participating in a fellowship in implant dentistry. All of our residents have already completed dental school and have a DDS, DMD or BDS degree.
Fees charged in our graduate clinics average about two-thirds the cost of the fees for a typical private-practice setting. Appointment times vary in length and additional time or appointments may be required for some services when compared to a private practice.
Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD)
Residents in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program offer comprehensive dental care, including routine cleanings and exams, fillings, crowns, bridges, implant restorations, partials/dentures, surgical procedures, and treatment of more complex general dentistry needs. Care is provided by resident dentists who are receiving an additional one or two years of training in advanced general dentistry. The AEGD residents work out of the Alton and East St. Louis clinics.
Fellowship in Implant Dentistry
In many instances, dental implants can be a highly effective method for replacing missing teeth. Residents in the Implant Dentistry Fellowship at SIU School of Dental Medicine dedicate a year to performing all phases of implant dentistry – including implant placement and implant restoration. The Implant Fellows work out of the Alton clinic.
Outside patients are accepted for treatment by the Implant Fellows for implant placement and/or implant restoration with a direct referral from their dentist. Please call 618-474-7006 for more information.
