SIUE Dining Services is dedicated to improving the impact we have on the environment as well as providing local sustainability. We continually look for ways to protect our natural resources by implementing informational marketing, researching and selecting products that are able to be reused, composted or recycled while balancing financial impact to the consumer. Dining Services partners with local businesses, farms, dairies and suppliers to help stimulate our surrounding communities.
Dining provides all of its cooking oil to a local company to be converted into Bio Diesel as well as using honey produced from our own bee hives and grows our own herbs and various other plants to be used on campus. We strive to enhance our environmental performance and reduce our environmental affect by continually setting goals to reduce our environmental impact as well as support our local community.
