CCRS Support Team
The Campus Climate Reporting System (CCRS) also includes a support team of university employees. This group of university employees is responsible for supporting those who report campus climate concerns. The support team not only provides support and assistance to those who report concerns, but this team reviews the qualitative and quantitative data created by the reporting process to note when patterns appear in what is reported. This can be at the institutional level or even within subgroups, departments, or offices on campus. This team also may make recommendations for policy reviews based on the data generated from the reporting forms. When appropriate, dialogue and/or listening session opportunities may be recommended and/or provided for the campus community by the CCRS support team.
The support team consists of two groups, campus partners and campus representatives.
Consultation of Campus Partners
Campus partners may be immediately consulted to verify if the campus climate concern has the potential for investigation based on legally required parameters. The initial consultation with the campus partners does not trigger a formal submission of the campus climate concern to a specific office or a formal investigation. However, as appropriate, initiating a response that is investigative in nature will be offered as an option to the reporting party.
Campus partners will consider the following:
- Relevant legal standards with special regard to the First Amendment and academic freedom concerns
- Concerns and requests of the reporting party, especially regarding anonymity and desired outcome(s)
- Whether the incident is a potential violation of any University policy – which would require following established University procedures
Campus Partners include:
- Office of Equal Opportunity, Access and Title IX Coordination Services
- Office of General Counsel
- Office of Human Resources
- Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
- Office of the Provost
- Office of the Vice Chancellor for Anti-racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- University Housing
Campus Representatives
Campus representatives are those who connect (as requested or as needed) with those who report campus climate concerns to offer support and resources. Some of that support may be assisting the reporting parties in understanding what options they may have regarding the concern they have shared. Campus representatives respond to reporting parties of campus climate concerns (as needed and/or requested) within two business days of the campus climate concern form being submitted. This may include email, phone calls, zoom, in-person appointments, etc. This connection is for the campus representative to ensure the reporting party has an opportunity to share all the information they wish and for the options, support and resources to be shared with the reporting party.
Campus representatives mostly provide a listening ear to better understand the campus climate concern and best understand what the reporting party wishes to occur as a result of reporting the concern.
Once the campus representative and reporting party have the opportunity to connect, the reporting party has the opportunity to decide how to move forward.
