About Dr. Greenwalt
Dr. Greenwalt received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2020. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Kansas Counseling and Psychological Services and her post-doctoral training at Western Illinois University’s Counseling Center.
Dr. G’s research examines the influence of social identity, culture, and interpersonal relationships on individual and family well-being. Areas of interest include racial and ethnic socialization, multicultural and LGBTQ+ experiences, stigma, identity development, and community-engaged research.
Dr. Greenwalt teaches graduate courses in clinical psychology including personality assessment of adults, cognitive behavioral therapy, and multicultural psychology. She loves teaching classes that blend academic knowledge with real-world experience to help students discern and pursue their calling.
Mentoring Statement
Dr. G is available to mentor students interested in how identities are shaped by relational experiences, cultural ideologies, and communication practices, with particular attention to transracial and structurally diverse families. Dr. G is passionate about mentoring students through collaborative research projects that connect psychological science with advocacy, equity, and positive social change.
