Teaching Accomplishments
- In 2016, Dr. Eva Ferguson received the Adlerian Psychology Teaching Award, signed by the Chancellor, that bestows on her the title of "Distinguished Scholar", based on her many years of scholarship in diverse areas of psychology and based especially on her leadership and research in Adlerian psychology.
- In 2016, Dr. Joel Nadler received the Vaughn Vandegrift URCA Research Assistant Mentor Award.
- In 2015, Dr. Steve Hupp received the SIUE Alumni Association's Great Teacher Award.
- In 2013, Dr. Cathy Daus received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success.
- In 2013, Dr. Betsy Meinz received the Vaughn Vandegrift URCA Research Assistant Mentor Award.
- In 2012, Dr. Jeremy Jewell also received the Vaughn Vandegrift URCA Research Assistant Mentor Award.
- In 2011, Dr. Steve Hupp received a Teaching Recognition Award from the Office of the Provost.
- In 2009, Dr. Laura Pawlow received the SIUE Alumni Association's Great Teacher Award (see related video).
- In 2009, Dr. Dan Segrist also received a Teaching Recognition Award from the Office of the Provost.
Research Accomplishments
- In 2017, clinical psychology student Haley Von Holst won the Graduate School Dean Vaughnie Lindsay Symposium Poster Award for her poster titled Students' Reports of Parents' Leadership Styles: Differences Between African-American and Eurpean-American Students.
- In 2017, clinical psychology student Melissa Beyer won the 1st place award in the graduate school's SLAM presentation session. Melissa's presentation was titled The Language of Sexual Assault and the Therapeutic Relationship.
- In 2017, Dr. Jeremy Jewell and SIUE Photographer Howard Ash won the Best Representation of Research Impact Award in the Visualizing Research Impacts Competition.
- In 2017, Dr. Andy Pomerantz won a Textbook Excellence Award from the Textbook and Academic Authors Association. He was honored for his textbook titled Clinical Psychology: Science, Practice and Culture, which is now in its fourth edition.
- In an analysis of publication productivity among school psychology faculty in all NASP-accredited, specialist-level programs (Laurent & Runia, 2016), Drs. Jewell and Hupp were ranked the 24th and 25th most productive researchers in the U.S.A.
- In the same analysis (Laurent & Runia, 2016), SIUE's school psychology graduate program was ranked seventh in the nation in scholarly productivity.
- In 2016, Dr. Jeremy Jewell won the SIUE Hoppe Research Professor Award, which honors Dr. Jewell for his outstanding grant-funded research projects.
- In 2014, Dr. Eva Ferguson received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology.
- In 2012, Dr. Andy Pomerantz was awarded the Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award for his efforts to integrate his research with student learning.
- In 2011, Dr. Thad Meeks won the Sigma Xi Researcher of the Year Award. At a Sigma Xi meeting honoring his accomplishments, he gave a lecture titled Individual Factors that Determine Our Ability to Fulfill Future Intentions.
