About Dr. Miner
Craig Miner, Ph.D., is a Professor of Special Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He has over 30 years of experience in educational and adult service programs for individuals with severe, profound and multiple disabilities. Dr. Miner teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in inclusive education, disabilities in schools and society, instructional and assistive technology, and family and school partnerships. He is available to mentor teacher candidates on issues and practices related to educating students with severe disabilities.
Research Profile
Dr. Miner has been involved in applied research, training, and implementation of person-centered planning activities/supports and student-directed IEPs.He has published and presented widely at state, regional, and national/international conferences on issues related to special education. Dr. Miner has additional research interests in instructional and assistive technology, self-determination, transition, family partnerships, and positive behavior supports.
