Graduate Resources
This page features a collection of resources for our graduate students. The safety page includes resources that help maintain safety when learning in our hands-on many laboratories. If you are a teaching or research assistant working in one of our labs, you will need to complete safety training. The new student orientation & advising link is the first step towards registering for courses. Once you receive your admission to SIUE and to the CE Graduate Program, you should complete this online orientation. If you are interested in working as a teaching assistant or research assistant, first visit the Awards & Assistantships page to complete our application. Next, contact faculty in your specialization to discuss your qualifications and the availability of positions.
All CE graduate students must complete a final research paper or thesis. The requirements for research papers and theses differ, so be sure to refer to either the Research Paper Guidelines (created by the CE Faculty) or the Thesis Guidelines (published by the SIUE Graduate School), respectively. To strengthen your technical writing abilities, see Research Paper Tips and the our General Rules for Writers pages.
Course descriptions provide information about what is covered in the variety of CE courses offered. Academic schedules provide key dates for each semester, such as registration and add/drop deadlines. For help with using all of the resources available through the Lovejoy Library, please contact a Technology and Engineering Librarian. The scholarships link helps identify which opportunities are available and how to apply. If you are looking for fun ways to meet other CE, you are strongly encouraged to participate in one of our student organizations. Last, the forms page includes a compilation of the document you might need during your studies at SIUE’s CE Department.
