Research Paper Guidelines and Tips
The Department's guidelines for the final research paper in the non-thesis option are below. An example of an excellent research paper is also provided. General tips and information sources on writing a research paper as well as giving a presentation are provided for your use. Also see the example research presentation announcement.
Important Note
Every statement in your thesis or research paper must either be your own or a reference must be cited. In other words, you must avoid plagiarism (Plagiarism is the act of representing the work of another as your own. It may consist of copying, paraphrasing, or otherwise using the written or oral work of another without acknowledging the source. Plagiarism is grounds for suspension from the University.)

SIUE CE Research Paper Guidelines
Follow these guidelines when writing your research paper. With the approval of your Advisory Committee, a manuscript accepted for publication in a journal or conference proceedings may be used as the final research paper.
