New Student Orientation and Advising
The Department of Civil Engineering (CE) provides mandatory orientation for all new graduate students. The orientation will cover departmental policies and requirements as well as course enrollment. To begin your orientation, please watch the Civil Engineering Graduate Program Orientation to learn how to use the following two resources to finish your orientation.
Orientation Presentation (PDF)
After completing the orientation, an advisor in your emphasis area (i.e., environmental/water resources, geotechnical, structural, or transportation engineering) will be assigned.
Textbooks
Starting fall 2018, graduate students can rent the required textbooks in their graduate courses through SIUe Textbook Service (located at 200 University Park Drive). Please plan to have your textbooks for the first class period; otherwise, you will likely fall behind. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Textbook Service or your course instructors directly.
