Tree Legacy Program
SIUE is pleased to offer a tree program to honor and remember friends and relatives. The program is designed to assist the University with planting trees at the Edwardsville, Alton and East Saint Louis locations.
Donors can choose from SIUE's approved tree varieties to have a tree planted in memory of a loved one. The University will select the location for the tree and while the trees will not be individually labeled, the donor will be recognized on the SIUE Facilities Management website as a contributor to the Tree Legacy Program. Trees will be planted as young saplings, in locations determined by SIUE’s grounds arborists.
Your purchase ($150) of a tree helps beautify our campus, creates a sense of ownership, and provides a meaningful amenity that thousands of outdoor users can enjoy and appreciate as times go by. The Edwardsville campus, in particular, has in large part been reforested through the efforts of the University and its ground department over the last 50 plus years, and this program will help continue that legacy with native, non-invasive species.
All trees will be planted during the fall or winter seasons (Oct-Jan).
Please note, the purchase of a tree is not tax deductible.
