Founders Hall Renovation - 1/25/19

Facilities Management (FM) appreciates the positive feedback we’ve received concerning cleanliness in Founders Hall. Our Building Service Workers and contractor have, and continue to, work hard to maintain a clean and safe educational environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors at SIUE.
FM continues progress on framing and concrete at the southwest tower, as well as mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work within the building. Next week, we will begin window framing on the 2nd and 3rd floors followed by glazing work.
Due to colder than normal temperatures, FM has redistributed space heaters for use in offices and our contractor has installed two forced air heaters on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which are currently without windows and more exposed to the elements.
As your safety and wellbeing are paramount to our mission, FM and Emergency Management and Safety will continue to monitor particulate matter data throughout the building. We expect the next round of results soon, at which time we will share the findings and any actions we take to maintain a safe environment.
