Facilities Management (FM) has taken the Art & Design West elevator out of service due to a mechanical issue. Our service tech will be on site tomorrow morning for repairs.

Facilities Management (FM) has taken north elevator in Lovejoy Library out of service due to a failure in the drive motor windings.

Repairs will require the removal of the drive motor to replace the windings. The estimated completion window is 2 to 4 weeks. In the meantime, please use either the south or west elevator in Lovejoy.

Update 2/7/2023: Boil Order Lifted. Test results indicate water is safe for consumption.

Update 2/2/2023 5:05 p.m.: Repair complete; water service returned to buildings. A boil order is in effect immediately until further notice for all buildings on Supporting Services Dr., including but not limited to, Supporting Services, University Museum Storage, Library Storage, and the Radio Tower Building.

 During this shutdown, access to the second floor of Alumni Hall will be limited to the building’s stairways. Over the weekend, Facilities Management (FM) identified a significant leak in the chilled water system near the entrance to Lot A, east of the Vadalabene Center (VC), requiring emergency repairs.

Facilities Management (FM) has taken the Founders Hall elevator out of service due to an issue with the door closing mechanism. Our maintenance technician will be on site tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 19, to assess the issue and begin repairs. FM will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

SIUE has experienced an electrical phase loss at University Park causing localized power and data service interruptions at various locations.

To protect building equipment, FM has shut off power at University Park.

Ameren is on site addressing the issue. However, the time frame for completing repairs and returning services is unknown. FM will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
