Founders Hall Renovation - 1/30/19

In anticipation of the current unusual and extreme weather, Facilities Management completed an inspection of Founders Hall earlier this week to identify potential heating issues. While we did find and address some opportunities, including sealing some ducts that had been dissipating warm air to the second floor, we realize that further efforts are needed to bring temperatures to acceptable levels in certain areas of the building. Tomorrow morning we will receive and place three additional forced air heaters in the building corridors as well as place additional space heaters in strategic locations, including certain restrooms. We are also looking at adjusting air flow to direct heat to cooler areas of the building. While we expect these additional efforts will make the building more comfortable, we will continue to closely monitor temperatures and invite any feedback for additional actions.
