Photography Policy
- Photographs are a wonderful way to remember your visit to The Gardens at SIUE. We encourage visitors to take casual photographs for their personal use. You may post your photo on our Facebook page, “Like” our page and share your photos with us!
- Personal photographs and videos are not to be used for commercial purposes.
- Our photography guidelines are intended for all guests, but particularly for those who use The Gardens setting as the background for portraits or other posed photography. We appreciate your cooperation and support in this matter.
General Photography Guidelines
- Be considerate about the length of your photo sessions. The Gardens is a venue to be enjoyed by everyone in the community. Blocking access to an area of The Gardens for lengthy photo sessions is not considerate to other Gardens visitors.
- Limit the size of photo props carried into The Gardens. Introducing large props to the natural areas of The Gardens is inconsiderate to visitors who wish to enjoy the natural setting of The Gardens.
- Avoid damage to collections. Photographers, visitors and photography equipment are restricted from entering planting areas; to do so causes considerable damage with a lasting impact. Please stand adjacent to manicured beds, not in them.
- Do not block walkways. No visitor (photographers or otherwise) may block or interfere with normal pedestrian or vehicular traffic on any paths or bridges at any time.
- The Gardens assumes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to equipment.
