After Formatting Acceptance
Once Your Thesis is Accepted
Once the Graduate School has sent an email to your committee that your thesis has been accepted, it will be registered as accepted in ProQuest unless the committee or the student communicates that it is not the final version. Approved theses are communicated to the Registrar's Office to begin the process of awarding your degree. It is important that the Graduate School is notified quickly if the accepted version is not the version to be published.
Once your thesis has a status of "Published" in ProQuest you will NOT be able to make edits to it.
Important Info About Your Accepted Thesis
- What file is published? The last PDF file that was uploaded to ProQuest in the formatting review process is the version that will be published. Notify your reviewer as quickly as possible if you need to make changes to your accepted thesis but it has not been published yet.
- What if my formatting is accepted and I haven't defended yet? If your formatting is accepted but you have not defended your thesis yet, notify your reviewer. Your reviewer will register a decision of "Minor Revisions Required" in ProQuest, and you will need to upload a new version once your committee approves it. The Graduate School will then review the formatting again and send another acceptance email to your committee.
- What if I need to delay release of my thesis after it has been accepted? If your thesis formatting has been accepted in ProQuest but it hasn't been published yet, you can ask the Graduate School to change the delay release settings.
- Do I need to submit a form or let someone know that my thesis has been accepted so that I'm awarded my degree? No. The Registrar's Office will see that your thesis file in ProQuest has been accepted by the Graduate School and will use that as confirmation in the degree awarding process.
