Mandated Child Abuse Reporting
In accordance with the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act, all employees of higher education institutions are mandated to report cases of suspected child abuse or neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) toll-free, 24-hour Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-25-ABUSE (22873). As required by the act, all University employees are required to complete an Acknowledgement of Mandated Reporter Status form provided by DCFS and forward the form to the Office of Human Resources.
