Install Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR)
Starting with Firefox version 52, released on March 7th, 2017, Firefox will no longer be able to open the Java plugin required to use Banner. After this date, it will only be possible to use Banner through Internet Explorer. However, it is also possible to download a version of Firefox that provides extended version support. This means that we can continue using the versions of Firefox that allow the Java plugin required by Banner to work.

If you are using Windows, you will first need to confirm if you are running the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Firefox. If you do not download the correct Firefox version for Windows, then the current version of Java installed on your computer may not be compatible with the install.
-
With Firefox open, press the options button in the top right corner of Firefox to open the options menu. From the options menu, press the question mark at the bottom of the options pane. This will open the Help Menu.
-
At the bottom of the Help Menu, select "About Firefox".
-
Next to the Firefox version, you should see whether your current version is 32 bit or 64 bit. If there is no label next to the current version number, then it is most likely 32 bit.
-
Firefox ESR can be downloaded from the link provided below. Select the correct version for your Operating System to continue. For Windows, select the same (32 bit vs 64 bit) version that you are already using. Select the correct version from the top row and not the bottom row. This will assure that you download version 52.
