Collection Guides
Collection guides, also called finding aids, are descriptions of archival collections. A collection guide usually provides researchers with contextual information about the collection, such as the history of the person or organization that produced the contents of the collection, as well as an inventory of its contents, sometimes called a “box list,” that gives greater detail of what a researcher might find in the collection itself. Collection guides allow Lovejoy Library to showcase our available collections and help facilitate access to these materials by giving researchers a better idea of what collection or part of a collection might interest them most.
