Dean's Welcome
Welcome to Library and Information Services at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). I am honored to be the Dean of such a wonderful resource for you--our students, faculty, and staff. I am filled with both excitement and a profound sense of responsibility to lead the Library in its mission to support student success, serve as the intellectual hub of the campus, and foster community engagement.
The Library is a beacon of knowledge and a vibrant space where ideas are exchanged, critical thinking is nurtured, and lifelong learning is encouraged. It is an environment that not only supports academic endeavors, but also encourages collaboration and innovation. By enhancing our information literacy curriculum, research support services, and dynamic programming, and by expanding timely access to resources, we will continue to inspire curiosity and foster discovery.
Community engagement is also a pillar of our mission. We will work to build strong connections with our students, faculty, staff, and wider community, ensuring that the Library is a welcoming space for all. Through partnerships, outreach, and inclusive programming, we aim to reflect and support the diverse needs and aspirations of our students and campus community. We are committed to ensuring that the Library continues to be a cornerstone of academic excellence, providing services and resources that empower SIUE’s students to achieve their highest potential.
I hope that you find a home in one of the many student study spaces that the Library offers, that you find academic support in the many student success services that we provide, and that you feel that you belong in the Library and that the Library belongs to you.
Sincerely,
Marlee Graser, MSLIS
Dean of Library and Information Services
