Request a Therapy K9 Visit
Our therapy K9’s are working animals also assigned to our Patrol Division. Scheduling them for events must come secondary to any calls for service in need of a therapy dog. The earlier you can submit your request, the better.
Requests should be made a minimum of 72 hours prior to the event.
Form submission does not guarantee an appearance. You will be notified within 48 hours of the request if an appearance can be accommodated and a follow-up confirmation email verifying details will follow ahead of the event date.
An on-site contact will need to be available to meet our K9 handlers upon their arrival. Our therapy K9’s must be provided reasonable flexibility for breaks in case of emergency situations where they are needed elsewhere.
Use of the University marks or logos for the publicity of the event must be approved by the SIUE Marketing Department beforehand. We will try our best to work with you and/or your organization to make sure the day is a success and we can provide a K9 for the event; however, our police handler’s schedule dictates availability.
We do not charge for our therapy K9’s to visit your event. We simply ask for your continued support of the program through conversation with our campus community members about the resource we can help provide. If you’re able and would like to make a donation to the Therapy K9 program, it would be much appreciated.
