Achievements
At the 2020 Kimmel Awards (recognizing outstanding leaders and programs across campus), Colin Boysen was recognized as the Outstanding Organizational Officer for his role as treasurer for the Honors Student Association. Colin is serving as president of the HSA this year.
The HSA, in partnership with Lovejoy Library, sponsored the Kimmel Award-winning social program in 2020. ESCAPE THE LIBRARY featured an original story about abolitionist Elijah P. Lovejoy on three floors of Lovejoy Library. Over 200 students attended the one-night event.
In 2019, the Honors Student Association won an award for the best new organization on campus. Since its creation, the organization has added several members, won three campus-wide awards and mentored hundreds of honors students.
Maddie Walters
Maddie Walters, a junior business major and member of the University Honors Program, is serving as president of the SIUE Student Government.
Jakob Ruffner
Jakob Ruffner is a junior studying geography and political science. An avid photographer, Jakob has a passion for landscape photography and physical geography. Three of Jakob’s photos have been selected for publication in the River Bluff Review, a student-juried publication on the SIUE campus. Jakob also provided many of the photographs used throughout this website.
