Percussion Ensemble
Percussion studies at SIUE are designed to provide the percussionist with a well-rounded education through instruction and experience. Participation in applied study, percussion ensembles, wind bands and E band, orchestra, and percussion methods (for music education majors) are important components of the curriculum. Additional involvement in the University jazz bands and combos, along with community and regional opportunities, make SIUE a wonderful place to study percussion.
While taking advantage of excellent instruction in the Department of Music, the percussionist at SIUE will experience a thorough course of study with excellent faculty while shaping and redefining their musicianship. Students in the percussion studio recently attended the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and remain active in current percussion trends.
