Music-Related SIUE Student Organizations
Being involved in a student organization will help you develop leadership and citizenship skills. Through student organizations, you will learn the genuine rewards of community service and get more out of your SIUE experience.
- Jazz Education Network — Promotes jazz education within the University and the community. Open to all students.
- Illinois Student Music Educators Association
- National Association for Music Education (NAFME) — Pursuing the continuation of excellence in music education by volunteering with local schools and organizations as well as furthering the career and real-world experience of NAFME members by providing opportunities to build connections with area directors and providing educational materials and resources to promote professional growth.
- SIUE Gospel Choir — The purpose of this organization is to spread God’s word through gospel music. The goals of the choir are to spread God’s word through gospel song, dance, and music; to promote cultural awareness of Black gospel music; to provide musical enrichment through the performance of gospel music to the University and the surrounding communities; to reach out to the university and surrounding community through service; to promote musical excellence through the performance of gospel music.
- Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia: Xi Tau Chapter — We are the all male music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Founded in 1898, we are the oldest and largest male music fraternity in America. We are united by a love of music, even if we don't all sing or play. Being a music major is not required either.

- Flute Club of SIUE — The Flute Club of SIUE is a music organization whose mission is to sponsor events so students and guest artists can perform and disseminate information, and to direct our efforts toward cultural and educational values in and for the general campus community.
- I Strings of Edwardsville — I Strings of Edwardsville welcomes people of all backgrounds to the wonderful world of string instruments. Our mission is to educate the students, enrich the musical aspects of students' lives, and expand their appreciation for these historic instruments. Some ways to achieve this are to take our organization to the St. Louis Symphony, hold master classes with well-known violinists, and perform in the community to also stir more awareness and appreciation for the string instruments in the public.
