Cougar Theatre Camp is our most popular and in-demand summer experience, offering students an exciting, immersive introduction to the world of theatre. Ends in a weekend of full productions!
Dance Camp
June22-26
Ages 7-13
Dancers of all skill levels are invited to explore the art of movement through daily instruction in a variety of dance genres, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and more. Under the guidance of talented SIUE Dance Majors, participants will enhance their technique, build confidence, and express their creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment. The week culminates in an in-studio performance on Friday, where dancers will showcase their skills and share their progress with friends and family.
Musical Theatre Dance Workshop
July 13-17
Ages: 6th grade and up
This Musical Theatre Dance Workshop is designed for students in grades 6 and up who want to explore the energy, style, and storytelling of Broadway dance. Participants will learn musical theatre–style choreography while focusing on musicality, character, and performance, with an added emphasis on audition preparation, including learning combinations quickly, taking direction, and presenting themselves with confidence.
Jr. Cougars Theater Camp
July 20-24
Ages: K-4th
Jr. Cougars Theatre Camp is a fun, imaginative introduction to theatre for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. Campers explore storytelling through creative drama, movement, music, and play while building confidence, collaboration, and self-expression in a supportive, age-appropriate environment. The week concludes with a casual, joy-filled sharing for families that celebrates creativity and imagination—no prior theatre experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to play.
Dance Intensive
Aug. 3-7
Ages: 13 and older (High Intermediate and Advanced Dancers)
This intensive offers a dynamic curriculum led by SIUE faculty and guest artists.
Participants will train daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in styles including ballet, jazz, Counter technique, improv, hip hop, composition, and repertory. Sessions on injury prevention are also included to support dancers' health and longevity. Culminates in a final performance for friends and family. Don't miss this opportunity to grow as a dancer and perform in a professional setting!
