Commencement Ceremonies
Commencement is the ceremony in which graduates celebrate the completion of a degree by receiving a diploma cover. There is no fee to participate, however, all graduates are responsible for purchasing their regalia (cap and gown).
All ceremonies are held in the Vadalabene Center on the Edwardsville campus. View Event Schedules.
We are excited to help you complete your college experience with a very memorable day. We hope that you participate in commencement to celebrate with your family and guests. Students who are eligible for graduation will receive updates and instructions from the commencement staff. All communication will be sent to SIUE email accounts, updated on the commencement website or SIUE social media channels.
Checklist for Graduates
If you choose not to participate in commencement, diploma covers may be picked up in the Student Service Center in Rendleman Hall, Room 1309.
Livestream
All live in-person ceremonies will be livestreamed. Only graduates in attendance will be recognized as they cross the stage. Friends and family members who cannot attend the ceremonies are encouraged to watch the livestream online.
