Regalia
All graduates participating in on-campus commencement are required to wear approved academic regalia.
- Students not in compliance with standards will NOT be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
- Military personnel are permitted to wear their dress uniforms in place of regalia.
- Regalia purchases are processed through the Cougar Store with a third-party vendor.

Bachelor's Regalia
Students earning undergraduate degrees wear gowns, caps (mortar boards) and tassels in colors corresponding to their degree program.
Pricing:

Master's Regalia
Students earning graduate degrees wear gowns, caps, black tassels and hoods in colors corresponding to their degree program.
Pricing:
- Cap, Gown, Tassel & Hood: $50 plus tax
- Plus shipping and handling
Doctoral Regalia
Students earning doctoral degrees wear gowns, tams (cap), tassels and hoods in colors corresponding to their degree program.

- Plus shipping and handling
- PharmD: Regalia pricing is different from above listed price. Custom SOP items are included in your regalia package.
Cap Decoration
Cap decorations with appropriate content are permitted. If content is deemed inappropriate, your cap will be confiscated and you will be required to purchase a new blank cap for the ceremony.
Cords, Stoles and Sashes
Honors cords are provided by SIUE at no additional cost, pickup or shipping can be coordinated through the Cougar Store at 618-650-3345.
National, Regional and University organization cords, stoles and sashes are permitted to wear over regalia and are obtainable through the individual organization.
FAQ
Can regalia be returned?
Regalia purchases can be exchanged, but not refunded. You can exchange items in the Cougar Store, located in the Morris University Center.
Can I use regalia from a previous ceremony?
Yes, if the regalia matches the approved SIUE academic regalia description for the degree you are obtaining. You cannot wear bachelor's regalia if you are obtaining a master's degree.

Can I order individual regalia items instead of the full package?
Yes, there are options on the regalia form to purchase individual items, you can also contact the Cougar Store.
Note: The costs to order items individually may be more expensive than ordering the full package.
Do I have to order my regalia through the Cougar Store?
No, however the regalia must match the approved SIUE academic regalia for the degree you are obtaining.
