Holds
If you have not done so already, be sure these tasks are completed
- Complete your U GOT THIS sexual violence prevention training through Blackboard. (Required every fall semester. Students who started SIUE in the spring are required to complete it during the spring term and the following fall.)
- Bursar’s Office- make sure your account is up to date.
- Turn in your Immunizations (https://cougarcare.siue.edu/)
- Submit your final high school transcript.
Registration Dates
- Monday, October 28, 2024: Registration opens for Seniors (90+ Earned Hours) and priority registration groups
- Thursday, October 31, 2024: Registration opens for Juniors (60 to 89 Earned Hours)
- Monday, November 4, 2024: Registration opens for Sophomore (30 to 59 Earned Hours)
- Thursday, November 7, 2024: Registration opens for all students
Where can I find the classes that my advisor recommended?
You can find your course recommendations for next semester either in Degree Works - click on Plans and select the active plan, or on the Advising MAP provided by your advisor during your appointment. Still not sure? Contact your advisor.
How to Register for Classes through CougarNet
Check out the CougarNet Information page for details on what you can access on CougarNet, such as your financial aid, bill, transcript, and registration. Watch the "How to Register" video for guidance on getting registered. If you are having trouble, you can come into the SOAR office for assistance.
You can also check out a popular resource that many students utilize to help them plan out their schedules- Coursicle. Please note that this resource is not officially connected to SIUE, so you need to double check accuracy on CougarNet.
Withdrawal Dates:
For Full Term courses
- Friday, October 25, 2024: Deadline to drop class(es) to receive W-Grade. No Instructor permission required.
- A grade of W does not count towards your GPA.
- Friday, November 15, 2024: Deadline to drop class(es) to receive WP/WF Grade. Must have Instructor and Advisor permission.
- WP does not impact GPA; WF counts the same as a failing grade.
For 8 week courses, check the appropriate calendar for withdrawal dates
Testing Services- Still need Placement Tests?
- Take recommended Placement Test(s)
- Prepare for your placement test(s) using the Accuplacer Practice materials and app.
- Please email your advisor as soon as your placement test(s) are completed.
- Proficiency Exam opportunities
- Practice for the QR Proficiency Exam. Fill out them form to Register for proficiency exam.
- Foreign Language Proficiency Exam: Recommended if you have 3-4 years of foreign language in high school.
Payment Deadlines:
- November 8th - Last installment for Fall 2024 classes due.
- December 6th - First installment for Spring 2025 courses due. Classes dropped if payment not submitted to University.

Need to send your SIUE transcripts?
- Unofficial copies of transcripts are only available for students to print by accessing their student records on CougarNet. (Student > Student Records > Academic Transcript).
- Request Official SIUE transcripts in-person or online.
Health Services
- Learn about the Mandatory Health Insurance Policy. If you currently have coverage, follow the steps to waive the SIUE coverage. Must be completed once per year.
