Religious Accommodations
SIUE values the diverse religious and spiritual traditions represented within our campus community and is committed to fostering an inclusive academic environment and workplace where students and staff of all religious and spiritual backgrounds are respected and supported, ensuring that no student or employee is subjected to discrimination, retaliation, or undue hardship for observing their sincerely held religious beliefs.
We encourage faculty, staff, and student organizations to consider religious and spiritual observances and traditions when planning syllabi, exams, assignments, and events, reinforcing an environment of mutual respect. To support this, SIUE’s Religious Accommodations Policy provides guidance on reasonable accommodations for religious and spiritual practices in accordance with state and federal laws.
See the calendars below for many of the religious and spiritual holidays observed by members of the SIUE community. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list and individual practices may vary.
