Cougar Village Family Housing
Approximately 40 families reside in two- and three-bedroom apartments at Cougar Village. Apartments are available both furnished and unfurnished. Students, faculty, or staff must show proof of marriage, a civil union legally recognized in Illinois, or domestic partnership to live in Family Housing.
Family Housing CostsWhat’s included:
- Installment payments include all utilities: gas, electricity, water, trash, and wireless Internet
- On-site laundry room
- Bus transportation to local schools
- Programs to meet the unique needs of family students
The Cougar Village complex houses more than 1,400 single students in apartments adjacent to, but mostly separate from, the family apartment buildings. Family Housing is located in Cougar Village buildings . Please note, that all University Housing facilities are non-smoking and no pets (except fish) are allowed.

SIUE is a recipient of the CCAMPIS grant, which allows student parents to apply for grant dollars to support their ongoing success as a student and parent and relieve their financial burden. The CCAMPIS grant supports parents with children ages infant to 5th grade. For more information on the CCAMPIS grant, eligibility, and how to apply please visit siue.edu/ccampis.
To apply for Family Housing, complete the online Family Housing application and pay the $175 deposit. Families can move in throughout the year, depending on availability.
