When someone experiences an act of sexual violence, they often feel afraid, shocked, concerned and unsure where to turn. They may respond to their experience in a variety of ways, including crying, little to no response, pretending as if it did not happen or becoming very vigilant about their surroundings. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence it is important that you understand the effects of sexual violence, as well as options to help yourself or someone you care about.
On the following pages you can find printable materials or watch videos that offer a variety of information about the topic of sexual assault and relationship violence. The resources can also help you respond in the most supportive way to someone who has experienced sexual violence. In addition, they can provide you or someone you care about the information they find most helpful in whatever stage they are in when dealing with their experience.
