They may respond to their experience in a variety of ways, including crying, little to no response, pretending as if it did not happen, or becoming very vigilant about their surroundings. If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, it is important that you understand the effects of sexual violence, as well as options to help yourself or someone you care about.

The resources can also help you respond in the most supportive way to someone who has experienced sexual violence.
