Volunteer
WSIE 88.7, “The Sound” is truly Community-Supported Radio. We are supported by the generous donations from our listeners. We are supported by our wonderful Underwriting partners. We are supported by our student volunteers. And we are also supported by non-traditional volunteers from outside of SIUE.
Many listeners are unaware that Kayci in the morning and Christiann in the evening are both former SIUE students that have returned to donate their professional experience, voices and time to help us continue WSIE’s mission.
Aside from on-air opportunities, we also have volunteers that help generate awareness for WSIE within the local business communities. Some volunteers help by making calls. Some volunteers help by staffing our booth at various public events like the Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival or Taste of St. Louis.
